“Gayageum, Meet Violin” is a recital and discussion, set for April 16, featuring a preview performance of a new composition “Apba Hagoo, Nah Hagoo” by Ariana Kim for the Korean traditional zither (gayageum) and violin.

The Society for the Humanities added to its grant offerings in 2021, awarding Humanities Impact Grants to humanities projects that “engage in broader public conversations with social impact in mind.”
Research supported by the 14 grants ranges from the physics of quantum computing to the design of new musical instruments.
The National Endowment for the Arts has approved a $30,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to the Department of Music to support a musical response to Freedom on the Move (FOTM), a database housing digitized, searchable fugitive slave advertisements.
