Overview

Michael Sparhuber is the Director of Percussion in Cornell’s Music Department, where he leads the Cornell Percussion Ensemble. He is a 2012 graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Don Liuzzi, Robert Van Sice, and Alan Abel.  As a performer, he has worked with conductors Simon Rattle and Alan Gilbert, and GRAMMY-winning ensembles including Eighth Blackbird and The Crossing.
