Overview
My name is James Parker, I'm an artist, composer, technologist, and bandoneonista based in Ithaca, New York. I make images, sculptures, installations, and music pieces that explore intimacy, nostalgia, and the relationship between nature and technology.
I've been a sound designer and composer for theater (mostly collaborating with director Khristian Mendez Aguirre), created sound installations (interactive and otherwise), and written music for Invoke, Sarah Hetrick, Jordan Walsh, Joe D'Esposito, and The Scattered Wagons.
I've been a fellow at Can Serrat, OneBeat, and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. I co-founded and help run Austin Unconducted. I am currently pursuing a DMA in composition at Cornell University.
