Overview
Eliot Ray Burk is a DMA student in music composition. His creative work conjoins experimental music, performance art, community organizing, and public pedagogy to temporarily suspend our social order by enacting utopian/dystopian propositions. These interventions range from solo performances which subtly alter the function of a space for minutes or hours, to massive actions involving as many people as possible, unfolding across weeks, months, or years. Eliot holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a MFA in performer-composer studies from the California Institute of the Arts.
