Overview
Annalise is a doctoral candidate in historical musicology, supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship from the Government of Canada. She holds a diploma in vocal performance, and has degrees in musicology from the University of Calgary (2008) and the University of Victoria (2011). Her dissertation focuses on late eighteenth-century French opera, particularly the operas of Christoph Gluck, the genre norms of operatic practice, and the politics and culture of the theatre before the French revolution. Annalise remains an active performer in the Cornell community and, in her spare time, has a secret identity as a folk musician, playing the ukulele and autoharp.
