Student Awards for 2018

The remarkable accomplishments of students in the Department of Music are recognized through annual awards, and we congratulate our students for the well-deserved honors listed below.

The Ellen Gussman Adelson Prize, which rewards and encourages outstanding Cornell students excelling in instrumental music performance, went to David Cabuenas, Jeremy Gershonowitz, and Hannah Krall.

The John James Blackmore Prize, which assists undergraduate and graduate students studying music, especially piano, was awarded to Ryan MacEvoy McCullough and Andy Sheng.

The H.A. Falconer Memorial Scholarship, which assists talented undergraduates in studying voice, went to Michelle Carfagno and Hans Slechta

The Otto R. Stahl Memorial Award, which honors a graduate composer for excellent work, went to Piyawat Louilarpprasert.

The Barbara Troxell Vocal Music Award, for outstanding vocal students who evidence professional musical interests, went to Natasa Kostic, Brigid Lucey, Jae Noh, and John Schafer.

The Donald J. Grout Memorial Prize, for recognition of exceptional dissertations, went to Anaar Desai-Stephens.
