Peraino wins Russell Award

Professor Judith Peraino has been awarded Cornell University's Stephan and Margery Russell Distinguished Teaching Award. The Russell Distinguished Teaching Award is intended for professorial faculty, lecturers, senior lecturers and teaching assistants who have demonstrated their devotion to teaching, where teaching is understood to include classroom presence, preparation and administration, student counseling (including general advising of students formally assigned, but not necessarily enrolled in the recipients’ course), development of new courses and new methods of student instruction.

Music Department Chair Alejandro L. Madrid added, "This prize is given based on Judith's continued excellence in research and dedication to teaching. This honor not only recognizes her outstanding teaching career, it is also an acknowledgement that the work done by the Department of Music's remarkable faculty does not go unnoticed beyond the walls of Lincoln Hall."
