Papalexandri wins award from the Canton of Zurich

Professor Marianthi Papalexandri Alexandri won the CHF 24,000 Wekbeitrage des Kanton Zurich award for a mesmerizing new sound installation called Resonator N3 for motors, rice paper, rice grains, and microphone stands, as well as in recognition of her contribution to the field.

Resonators N3 (2022) was commissioned by the Canton of Zurich for the Werkschau 2022 annual art competition and was exhibited at the Museum Haus Konstruktive from September 29th to October 9th, 2022.

The jury appointed by the Culture Department consists of members of the visual arts section of the cantonal commission for the promotion of culture: Sabian Baumann (artist, Zurich), Alexandra Blättler (art historian and collection curator at the Kunstmuseum Luzern), Anders Guggisberg (artist, Zurich) and Deborah Keller (editor Kunstbulletin and curator Kunsthalle Arbon) as well as the external specialists Sophie Jung (artist, Basel/London) and Carmen Weisskopf (artist, Berlin).
