Bonna Boettcher divides her scholarly energy among a variety of areas, including library administration, music librarianship, and fictional representations of music and musicians. She has written and presented on topics such as Stravinsky's piano music, fictional women pianists, music and musicians in mystery fiction, copyright and music, and library planning.
She currently serves as Assistant Convention Manager for the Music Library Association, and is a member of the association's Legislation Committee. She is a past president of the association and also has served as Executive Secretary.
