Adrianne Ngam wins 5th annual Cornell Concerto Competition | Thu Dec 18, 2008

Congratulations to cellist Adrianne Ngam, this year's concerto competition winner! She played Ginastera's Pampeana No. 2. Adrianne will perform this work with the Cornell Symphony Orchestra on March 1, 2009 (3 PM, Bailey Hall).

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Adrianne Ngam began cello studies in 1997. She has been an active musician in the Twin Cities, participating in Minnesota Youth Symphonies, Artaria Chamber Music School, St. Paul District Honors Orchestra, and the All-State Orchestra. Her previous competitions include the Rochester Chamber Music Competition (2007, 1st place) and the Schubert Club Competition (2008, 2nd place). Her past teachers include Hong Wang and Tom Rosenberg. Adrianne is enrolled in Cornell’s 5-year architecture program in the College of Art, Architecture, and Planning. She is currently studying with John-Haines Eitzen.
